L'aigle Polonais à travers les ages

meanings:
According to legend, the white eagle was born when Lech, the legendary founder of Poland, saw a white eagle's nest and, considering auspicious, founded the city of Gniezno (gniazdo which means nest in Polish). When the eagle spread its wings to fly in the sky, a sunbeam red sunset lit up her wings, so that they seemed golden; but the rest of her body was white.

History:
The first evidence of existence of the eagle are the gold objects found by the Nazis in a small Polish town history, Biskupin, during the occupation of Poland during World War II.
The current version of the eagle was established by a constitutional amendment in 1927. In 1945, the new Communist government abolished the crown on the head of the eagle was considered a symbol of monarchical and therefore contrary to the equality advocated new socialist state. In addition they replaced the roundel present on its wings with a red star. In 1990 after the return of democracy came the crown; the current version is the same as that of 1927, with some minor cosmetic changes.
